in Heidi Calls Tutorial "Thermoplastisches Abformen in Textil" am FR. 26.4, 13:00–17:00, sind noch Plätze frei.

Experimentelle, sowie technische Einführung in das „thermoplastische Abformen“, einer künstlerischen Textil- Technik, bei der Formen, Strukturen und Farbe mittels Hitze in textile Materialien gepresst werden. So lassen sich Körperabformungen, amorphe Strukturen und komplexe Origami-Faltungen, aber auch feine Markierungen, Linien, Zeichnungen, Nähte in Textilien prägen/zeichnen.

Vermittelt werden die technischen Bedingungen und die unterschiedlichen Besonderheiten der Ausgangsmaterialien. Welches Material/Werkzeug eignet sich für welche Technik?
Stoffe/Werkzeug werden zur Verfügung gestellt; bitte aber auch eigene Stoffe /Kleidung (mit synthetischem Faseranteil) mitbringen.

INOU's lecture will be on: "Der Kampf gegen rassistische Ikonographie in Österreich - The fight against racist iconography in Austria". The lecture will be in German. The question/ answer session will be in English and German as needed:

Vom Julius Meinl bis zum M*rBrau-Bier kommen rassistische Bilder in österreichischen Werbekampagnen, Literaturen, Museen und anderen öffentlichen Räumen allzu oft vor.

In diesem Vortrag wird der Journalist, Soziologe und Aktivist Simon INOU eine kritische Analyse des schwarzen und afrikanischen Aktivismus in Österreich hinsichtlich rassistischer Ikonografie präsentieren. Er wird auch zum Thema schwarze Repräsentation in österreichischen Medien und zur antirassistischen Arbeit sprechen.

From Julius Meinl to M*Brau beer, the utilisation of racist imagery in Austrian advertising campaigns is sadly too common. It is also present in literature, public space, cultural customs and museums, and other areas. In this lecture, journalist, sociologist, and activist Simon INOU will present a critical analysis of challenges to racist iconography and Black African activism in Austria. He will also speak on Black representation in Austrian media and anti-racist organising.

We live in a world that is saturated with color, but how should we make sense of color's force and capacities? This book develops a theory of color as fundamental medium of the social.

Constructed as a montage of scenes from the past two hundred years, Organizing Color demonstrates how the interests of capital, management, governance, science, and the arts have wrestled with colour's allure and flux. Beyes takes readers from Goethe's chocolate experiments in search of chromatic transformation to nineteenth-century Scottish cotton mills designed to modulate workers' moods and productivity, from the colonial production of Indigo in India to globalized categories of skin colorism and their disavowal. Tracing the consumption, control and excess of industrial and digital color, other chapters stage encounters with the literary chromatics of Pynchon's Gravity's Rainbow processing the machinery of the chemical industries, the red of political revolt in Godard's films, and the blur of education and critique in Steyerl's Adorno's Grey.

Contributing to a more general reconsideration of aesthetic capitalism and the role of sensory media, this book seeks to pioneer a theory of social organization—a "chromatics of organizing"—that is attuned to the protean and world-making capacity of color.

Movie nights is a format for a transdisciplinary exchange: Starting each time from one film, we open the space for a conversation about the relations between production of images and their conditions – modes of narration, authorship, history, politics and effects on society. We show fiction, documentaries, movie and television productions in regard to the actual situation, focusing on Palestinian and Israeli films. The movie nights take place in the section of Applied Photography and are hosted and organized by the sections Applied Photography, Klasse für Alle, Art and Communicative Practices, Art theory, Philosophy, and Transcultural Studies.

Fanzineist Vienna Art Book & Zine Fair is an annual independent publisher event that takes place in Vienna, Austria. It is focused on showcasing self-published publications and independent works in the fields of art, design, literature, culture and more. The fair provides a platform for artists, writers, and publishers, galleries, institutions and bookshops: to present and sell their works to a wider audience, as well as to network and connect with others in the scene.


Fanzineist Vienna features a variety of exhibitions, workshops, concerts and talks, as well as a range of vendors selling books, zines, prints, and other items. The event is open to the public, and it provides a space for people to explore the world of independent publishing and to discover new artists and writers.


This year, Fanzineist Vienna will host 125 artist & independent art publishers from over 30 different countries.
